Day 119: Cash's 2nd Birthday!

This morning Eric and I went golfing with Nate and his brother-in-law Jake.  We just went to the driving range, but it was a pretty good time.  My farthest shots were about 100 yards and Eric's were about 115 yards.

After we got back, we got everything ready and left for Cash's birthday party at For The Kidz, a tumbling place.  We set up the cake and all of the PJ's Molly had received so far.  Then we headed in to the gym area where there were tons of trampolines, a foam pit, climbing rope, rings and uneven bars, a toddler slide, and inflatable obstacle course.  It was a fantastic party, as the gym was fun for the adults and the kids.  Even little Declan had a great time watching everyone and bouncing on a trampoline.

Eric was quite fond of the driving range.

I was surprised, I actually did an alright job at swinging!

She wrote his name on the cake using the A from the Caterpillar logo.

Driving the car while waiting for his party.

Look at that incredible cake and background!

Windows, wipers, headlights, exhaust pipe, red light, digger, dirt, wheels, wheel covers, side mirrors, and more!  Go Molly & me!  Cake making heroines!  Oh, and the blocks holding the cake up say "two".

The blocks at the back of the cake said "cash"  The "s" is a 5 because he didn't have an "s" block!

Cash helping the instructors warm up.

Cash liked climbing the rocks and going down the slide.

You can't see it very well - but when Eric and I raced on the inflatable obstacle course, he got quite a few friction burns from hurtling through the obstacles and down the slide.

Declan and another baby, too cute!

Eric wasn't up for jumping and spent a lot of time with Declan.

Jordan and Cash breaking the "one person per trampoline" rule.  :)

Nate at the bottom of a jump.

Nate up in the air!  These trampolines could really propel you!

Molly, and everyone, loved the foam pit!

Molly and I triumphant with the cake, moments before destruction!

The Murray's!

Cash wanted a wheel for his piece - so he had a donut and oreo!

Lots of people there to celebrate his birthday!

Lots of PJ's for charity.

Declan is always super cute - but especially with Jake's hat!

Day 118: Bulldozer Cake, Babies, & Booze!

Have I mentioned that Eric and I love Michigan?  Today Molly and I did a lot of work on the bulldozer cake, Eric played some Wii games and golfed with Nathan.  In the evening we had Salmon Cakes and pasta salad for dinner, mmmm!  Then we took the kids on a walk and had some fun in the leaves - Michigan's trees are already red, yellow, and orange.

We played some card games and had an interesting mix of drinks - Boulevard wheat and Amber Bock, blueberry vodka with orange juice, cranberry juice, and sprite, as well as tequila with orange juice, grenadine, and sprite.

Eric and Sydney, he just can't get away from cats.

I made the wheels and wheel covers for the bulldozer cake - donuts, half an Oreo, and some icing.

Molly adding details to the cake, and my awesome cake board.

Cash is almost 2!  He is so big and fun!

 Declan loves shopping for liquor!
Molly taught Cash how to slurp noodles.

Dec is such a happy boy.

Eric found a wolverine claw among the leaves.

The boys are so thrilled with playing in the leaves!

Cash really really enjoyed playing in the leaves.

His favorite thing to do was throw leaves on Declan.

How fun!

Cash throwing leaves on me.

Eric chasing Cash!

 Molly and me, yay!

This is the same picture that Eric and I always take, but it looks good!

Eric, Molly, and Cash climbing up the stairs!

I was playing "I'm going to get you!" with Cash.  I held Declan down low and chased Cash, then turned around and he chased us.

Declan really wanted Eric's beer!

Molly and Cash were dancing, I got a great video of Cashy dancing for us!

Our variety of drinks.

The obligatory baby playing cards picture.

We played Cranium and the middle two blobs are my version of Thanksgiving Dinner - a cooked turkey and plate with stuff on it.  The top was Eric's version, which I am NOT making fun of!  He made a live turkey, which Molly or Nathan said looked like a dinosaur.

Declan was very interested in Eric.

Day 117: Michigan, At Last!

Our trips to Michigan every few months are always a welcome break!  I cried a little bit on our drive up, in happiness, because I realized this was a goal of ours this year.  On the morning of our wedding we both wrote down our top ten life goals, goals for our first year of marriage, and our thoughts that morning.  For a goal in our first year of marriage, Eric wrote "Visit 'The Murray's' as 'The Green's'".  We're now completed 2 out of 10 - paying off one credit card, and going to Michigan as a married couple.

We made really good time through the night - probably because we were listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on CD.  We were running really early, the GPS said we would arrive at 6:30am, so we decided to stop for breakfast at Denny's.  Our waitress was definitely drunk, high, or crazy!  We got to Molly & Nathan's house just in time to see them and the kids before they all left for work or daycare.  We got to take a nice nap, run some errands, pick the boys up from daycare, and make some really good chili.  Molly and Nate got home from work after 9 and we played a new game called "Robo Rally" which was pretty cool, and some Euchre.

Oh, and the primary objective of this vacation...Cash's 2nd birthday!  Molly decided to make a bulldozer cake and put me in charge of the background again.  She was going to do a marshmallow fondant, but the yellow frosting ended up being perfect for it.

Declan all tucked in to go for a walk.

It looked like a school bus for much of the creation process!
