Day 168: Kath's Going Away Party

Tonight was Kath's Going-Away Party, and we had the unfortunate pleasure of arriving a few hours late.  See, Eric had work and didn't get home until 9 and the party started at 7.  This is unfortunate because we would have liked to show up straight away, but this was a pleasure because everyone was already drunk!  It was fun to see everyone and we played some fun games of Apples to Apples and Pictionary.

Andrew has learned how to walk!  He also learned how to trap himself inside stool chairs!

 The girls!

Everyone hanging out!

Someone remind me what I'm imitating!  Because I can NOT remember (P.S. I did NOT get drunk, I'm just forgetful!)

I was puffy and intellectual!

Day 167: (D)Addy!

We have been spending a lot more time in the office now that it's clean, not that you can tell by the picture... Anyhow, I spend most of my time on the guest bed playing Wii or working on homework using my laptop, and Eric has been spending more time on the desktop computer.  We've discovered that Addy really loves sitting on the person in the computer chair.  We came to this conclusion because Addy is totally a Mama's girl and generally will choose to cuddle with me.  But these days, she's spending a lot more time in her Daddy's lap!

Yes, we refer to our cats as "the kids" and to each other as "Mommy" and "Daddy".  Judge away!

Eric says Addy was checking her eTrades account!

Day 166: Happy Birthday to Me?

Today I got an email from Old Chicago saying I've got a free birthday pizza on my World Beer Tour card, hooray!  I sent messages to Eric, Kristie, and Alison and we made it a date!  Everyone met up at the Olathe OC just in time for the KU Basketball game.
Dinner was delicious and the conversation was good!  We were mostly entertained by Zach aspiring to be a photographer like Rob...though he needs to work on his composure...

Oh yea, the KU game was close...far too close...we almost went into OT and it was madness!

Despite the thumb in the way and neither of us being ready, he was pretty good at self portraits!

He's getting so big, what a goof ball!

I was instructing Zach to point the camera "over there!"

Boys...Eric and Ryan are turds!

Zach took this one of Kristie and Ali, I like how it looks like Kristie's head is on the straw.

Here's a good self portrait!

Awarded "Creepiest Picture of the Night"...this is Zach's eyeball.

Day 165: The Balance of Work and Play

Tonight was torture!  I got home from work and had a big project for school that I have put off for a few weeks.  Well...it's due tomorrow and I hadn't even started.  But I truly produce my best work under that kind of pressure.  Of the 8 hours between getting home from school and going to bed, I spent at least 5 of them working on the project.  Probably 2 of those hours were spent playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii :)

It was a good night for Eric too because we weren't able to do anything together, so he was free to game all night long!

Now that Andrew has grown out of his car seat, Mystic is free to be the baby again.

Eric brought home some really good Sweet Tomato and Basil Ragu sauce, and we had a delicious dinner!

Day 164: Games for Everyone

I saw on Facebook that Kristie didn't work any nights this week, so I suggested that we get together sometime this week.  She came over to our place to play Wii, weeeeeeeeeeee!  I started by showing off my mad skillz collecting 1ups on 1-1 of Super Mario Bros. Wii.  Then we spent quite awhile playing Kirby's Epic Yarn.  There were all kids of funny puns like “I'll show you the ropes”.  Kristie hadn't played it with 2 players and I'd never played before, so we thoroughly enjoyed the novelty of picking each other up and throwing each other around.

Then we played Donkey Kong for awhile, and it's putting it nicely to say that I needed a lof of help, haha.  I just had a hard time figuring it out and kept dying!

Then Eric was the star of the show, playing MAG online with Steven and some other guys.  It was funny because the guys he was playing with could hear Kristie and I talking from across the room because of our higher voices (and distinctive laughs!).

Mystic is obviously quite interested in everyone's games!

Day 163: Race for Time

Today was all about the race for time.  Eric had to make sure he made it to Olathe to go to they gym, his Eastern Religion class, and then over to Papa's house to work some things out.  We're looking forward to seeing how Mystic and Addy will deal with having Papa's dog, Frisco, in the house while he is Michigan over Christmas break.  Mystic will probably just sleep out of reach and ignore him, she grew up with two active dogs around her!  Addy, on the other hand, is probably going to do a lot of hissing and attacking... she doesn't tolerate change well.

After I got out of class, I had to rush over to the courthouse to pay for my car registration.  I think it's funny that at 3:10 on the second to last day of the month, people are surprised by and complain about the line!  A man, probably in his 60's, said that he would probably die before making it to the front of the line.  There were probably a dozen people in front of me, and I made it through in about 45 minutes.  When I left at 3:50, there were nearly two dozen people in line, yikes!

Another year of not waiting in line!

Day 162: The Office!

Way back when (When you ask?  On Day 8 of us being married of course!, we posted pictures of the post-wedding apocalypse that we call our office.  It was pretty much where we threw anything wedding related, and anything that didn't belong somewhere else in the house.

Over the past few days, Eric and I have nearly made it to the finish line in getting it back to a functional room!

The desktop computer hasn't been functional in ages, and we got the desk cleaned off and the computer up and running.

We've got all the board games and Wii equipment in here.

The bed is completely clean!

And I can't just hide this - there is a pile of clutter in the entrance to the room, but that will be taken care of this week.  Huzzah!
