Day 154: It's Warming Up Around Here

Things are heating up in the Green household!  Last week we ordered a heated blanket on Walmart.com and it was delivered to the store yesterday.  This is seriously the greatest thing ever for our comfort and heating bill!  We turned our heater on to 55 to meet the agreement in the apartment lease, but we've yet to use it to heat the house.  I tried weatherstripping the front door today, but the tape Alan gave me wasn't sticky anymore.


Next up, today is the 20th!  Which is budget day in our house!  In the last month I applied a $2100 insurance check to my car's loan, which makes it our smallest debt.  We had to rearrange things on our debt thermometer, and it felt good to color so much in on one day!

Today is also our 5th monthiversary!  Married life is great, we're both loving it!

Before filling in the past 9 months of minimum payments, a $2100 insurance check, and our first $400 snowball to it.

Day 153: Happy Routes!!

Woo! Jess and I are big Harry Potter fans. Every time a new movie comes out we watch through the whole series from start to latest before we go see the new one. Today Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (#6) premiered in our area. Jess waited outside for four hours even though they only lined people up two hours before the show time. I got off work and sat with her for about 20 minutes while we listened to the book on tape on the iPod. Kris and Papa went too. I won't give any spoilers here, but we'll just say it wasn't quite spot on with the plot of the book. It still turned out to be a good movie and a fun night though. The showing was at a quarter after 11, and by the time we got out it was almost 2 a.m. We're totally looking forward to Part 2, but hopefully when we see that one it will be before bedtime.

Day 152: Gearing up for Happy Routes!

Eric and I have watched all 6 of the Harry Potter movies on DVD and listened to most of Deathly Hallows on CD over the last month.  We are down to one day until the movie, and still have 3 chapters of the book to go!  We aren't in a huge rush to finish though, because this movie is only the first half of the Deathly Hallows book.

Eric and I both text using the T9 feature, and when you try to type "Harry Potter", it comes up as "Happy Routes", hence the blog title for today.  Tonight we decided to lay in bed and listen to some Harry Potterwhile each playing our own things on our computers.

To each their own!

Eric and I were detoured on our way home because of an accident right off of our exit. There was a rollover accident and we were able to see the clean up from the field next to our house.  The tow truck pulled it upright using chains.

Day 150: A Night of Hysterics

Tonight I was eating some Nerds candy, and Eric asks "Are they from the floor?!"  This dear husband of mine felt the need to check if I was eating fresh Nerds, or if they spilled on the floor!  For the record, they were NOT from the floor!

Later, Eric and I were eating our delicious off brand Oreo's.  He was quite impressed with himself because he managed to remove the frosting from both cookies, leaving a frosting patty behind.  Mystic took an immediate interest in this accomplishment and tried to steal the frosting from him.

She was jumping for the frosting.

Then when Eric let her taste it, she kept eating at it.

He thought it would be funny to throw the frosting at me...Mystic kept eating!
  No, we didn't let her eat the whole thing!

Day 149: 61 Consecutive Home Wins!

Tonight was my Aunt Kath's first ever KU Basketball game!  I came across some free tickets at school today and she was my lucky game day buddy! After the game we had a nice hour long chat at 3 Spoon's Frozen Yogurt, yum!

We missed the first 5 minutes of the game because of my night class, but it still amounted to a rockin' night!

Day 148: A Big Tree

Ashley met me at church this morning for our confirmation class.  We had a good laugh about the mixup with Grammy's tree.  We bought a Wisconsin Weeping Willow instead of whatever type of tree it was at the 67th street house... The Wisconsin Willow is set to grow up to 40 feet tall and 40 feet across... oops!

Later in the day I took Kris and Andrew to the closing for Happening #85.  Andrew really enjoyed being in church!  So many people to see, stand up-sit down, singing, etc. 

Later in the evening I went to Dave Ramsey, and we learned about retirement and saving for your child's tuition.  My mom was awesome and brought in some credit cards that she had shredded earlier that day - she had so many that she was afraid the scissors would start to hurt her hands!

Her tree keeps on growing!  I can't wait to see it this time next year!
